Neem Foundation carried out various activities like field demonstrations, trainings, village meetings and poster pasting in the rural areas for more than decades to popularise the benefits of the neem in agriculture. Foundation laid more than 4000 field demonstrations of neem kernel aqueous extracts- a homemade remedy for insect pest management to gain firsthand experience of neem power and to develop confidence and faith on neem. Demonstrations was given to various crops like cotton, soybean, tur, fruit crops like orange, sweet orange, mango, vegetables like brinjal, okara, tomato, chilly, cabbage, cauliflower, sugarcane, etc. Farmers are now preferring neem extract for pest management and neem fruit powder/neem cake as a organic manure with crop protection properties from soil born pest and diseases for crops like turmeric, cotton, orange, pomegranate etc.
Village meetings were organised to educate the farmers and self help groups to understand the benefits of neem in crop protection and to reduce cost of cultivation. In organic farming neem is a essential components of pest management and crop nutrition.
